Pivot table not updating refresh
refreshes everything, not only the pivot tables but also the ODBC queries. The Cache has it's own refresh method and its own collections.
I have a couple of VBA queries that refer to Data connections and using this option crashes as the command runs the Data connections without the detail supplied from the VBA I recommend the option if you only want the pivots refreshed check the most voted answer.. So we could have refreshed all the Pivot Caches instead of the Pivot Tables. When you create a new Pivot Table you are asked if you want it based on a previous table.
What if the worksheet contains a pivot table and its sister pivot chart?
For instance, if Sheet1 contains the original pivot table, then: Personally, I got around this in a slightly different way - I had a pivot table querying an SQL server source and I was using the timeline slicer to restrict the results to a date range - I then wanted to summarise the pivot results in another table.
I selected the 'source' pivot table and created a named range called 'Source Pivot Data'.
Rather than using copy and then paste values, however, a better way for many purposes is to create some hidden columns or a whole hidden sheet that copies values using simple formulae.
The copy-paste approach isn't very useful when the original pivot table gets refreshed.
Most commonly you have a worksheet with a bunch of data and a corresponding chart, and you have another sheet of data you want to add a chart to.
